What is Mercury's Mobile Network?
At Mercury, our mobile services are delivered through the Spark Mobile Network.
Provider display on iPhones:
For iPhone users, your device will display "Mercury" as the service provider name instead of "Spark NZ". This change is applied automatically and requires no action from you.
When might "Spark NZ" appear on iPhones?
Even for iPhone users, there are scenarios where your device might temporarily display "Spark NZ" instead of "Mercury":
- Device Reset: If you reset your device and it hasn't downloaded the latest network configuration.
- WiFi Calling: If you are using WiFi calling, it will display "Spark NZ WiFi Calling".
In most cases, however, your iPhone will display "Mercury" as the provider name. If your iPhone still shows "Spark NZ", please note that this should update automatically over time. Unfortunately, we cannot manually force this change.
Provider display on Android or other devices:
On Android and other devices, your device should display "Mercury" as the service provider name. Please note that on some older devices, this may display as "Spark NZ".
